PRESS RELEASE: LOCAL ATTORNEY RECEIVES CERTIFICATION IN ELDER LAW
New London - The National Elder Law Foundation (NELF) – the only organization approved by the American Bar Association to offer certification in the area of elder law - has announced that Jack Reardon of Cipparone & Zaccaro, P.C., in New London, Connecticut has successfully completed his examination leading to his certification as an elder law attorney.
Certification in elder law provides a measure of assurance to the public that the attorney has an in-depth working knowledge of the legal issues that impact the elderly. To qualify for the designation of Certified Elder Law Attorney (CELA), one must show substantial involvement in the key areas of elder law, which include estate planning, healthcare planning, guardianship, capacity, Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, veterans benefits, and more. Once satisfying the experience requirement, the attorney must then pass a rigorous full-day written examination that demonstrates the attorney’s breadth of knowledge in elder law. The attorney must also be recommended for certification by his colleagues, and complete a minimum of 45 hours of continuing education in elder law in the preceding three years.
Jack Reardon, shareholder of the law firm Cipparone & Zaccaro, P.C. in New London, Connecticut is now a Certified Elder Law Attorney (CELA). Jack Reardon has practiced law for over nineteen years and focuses his practice on Trusts, Estates and Elder Law.
